James Henry Cassidy ( 1869-1926)  Maple 143

He was born in  Cleveland, Ohio on October 28, 1869. He studied law at  
the Cleveland Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1899 and began  
practice in Cleveland. He served as clerk on the Committee of Rivers  
and Harbors, The House of Representatives from December 1901 until  
January 11, 1909 when he resigned. He was elected as a Republican to  
the Sixty First Congress to fill the vacancy left by the resignation  
of Theodore E. Burton. He served in this position From April 20, 1909  
until March 3, 1911. He was a unsuccessful candidate for reelection in  
1910 to the Sixty-second Congress. He resumed his law practice then  
and was appointed the receiver of the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Coal  
Company.
James moved to New York in 1915 and worked in the brokerage business  
and became president of an express company. He died in Forest Hills  
gardens, New York on August 23, 1926. He does not have a tombstone.
